We’re back with our Spotlight Interview Series where we are asking our employees about their role at MCDC and to keep you informed on what’s happening.
This month we interviewed Senior Loan Officer, Mike Ufford who represents Macomb, St. Clair, Sanilac, Lapeer, Huron and Tuscola Counties. Mike’s been with MCDC since 2007 and has enjoyed over 30+ years in commercial lending. Since his tenure with MCDC, Mike’s helped over 192 businesses take advantage of the SBA Loan Programs with $199,755,054 in total projects.
Mike markets and promotes the SBA Loan Programs to lenders, small businesses, economic development agencies, commercial realtors and loan brokers to expand awareness and to help businesses grow and create jobs. He collaborates with the underwriters and borrowers to create a seamless process from start to finish.
What do you most like about MCDC?
What I enjoy most about MCDC is the quality of my co-workers and the camaraderie that we share. We meet at least once a quarter and spend the day updating and sharing information and participating in a team environment.
Before working at MCDC, what was the most interesting job you had?
Before MCDC the most interesting job I had was working in Aviation Financing where we provided loans for corporate jets, turboprops, and private aircraft. During this employment I decided to take flying lessons and I learned to fly myself.
If you could witness any historical event what would you want to see?
I would have wanted to witness the Woodstock music event in 1969 in New York. Since I play in a band, it’s people like me who especially would have loved to be a part of this epic moment in rock ‘n’ roll music history.
